Destiny 2 - thoughts on the upcoming season 10

Feb-25-2020 | Categories: news

The current ninth season of Destiny 2 is coming to an end, according to the combat pass, users have a little more than two weeks left to get various exclusive awards and titles. It also means that around the beginning of March, the launch of the next tenth season will take place. Presumably it will be called “Season of the Worthy” (it seems like it was pulled out of the client by the dataminers) and, according to an already established custom, developers gradually begin to talk about various changes and sometimes produce very interesting hints. In this article, based on the available information, I will put forward my assumptions regarding the content that awaits us.

We will begin, of course, with the plot component. It is becoming increasingly apparent that at the end of the third year of the game, the guards will have to resist the invasion of triangles, thereby developers will be able to beat the canonical confrontation of light and darkness. Starting from the second year, each small update led to this point through the collection of allies throughout the solar system. This season, players have resurrected the only normal of the living titans, but Osiris is a key figure, because he did not just leave the endless simulation of centuries.

Unexpectedly for everyone, the weekly discharge last week began with a cinematic video, in which Osiris decided to visit Rasputin (a military complex on Mars) to find out on which side he would be on the hour of the opposition of the forces of light against darkness. For the most part, it is this moment that allows us to draw quite obvious conclusions where season 10 will unfold. Firstly, the guards may have to return to Mars, because only one season of the third year, for obvious reasons, passed on a new planet. Secondly, contrary to some opinions, Rasputin will not necessarily take a side of the world, some users even jokingly recalled the Wrath of the Machine raid from the first part.

If you take the first option as a canon, the content of season 10 becomes as transparent as possible - updated protocols (including new weapons / armor), the participation of Anka Bray as one of the key characters, the unique appearance / weapon of Breiteh and possibly new activity tied around the themes of Rasputin (cars ) And so on. In this scenario, Bungie will have to carefully think through everything so that protocols are not a key activity. After launching the Warmind add-on, they were very “exciting” activities, especially when players were forced to jump on teleport points in search of a free channel to collect parties from three groups.

In general, the idea of protocols is very interesting, but, alas, the implementation of an open event type does not work very well in Destiny 2 realities. For example, a similar version on the Moon, although it looks a bit simpler, but based on my experience, I’ll say that there are not enough people to follow the mechanics of the final boss. Again, based on my experience, I managed to completely go through the altar immediately after its addition, approximately in the middle of the eighth season and several times in the current one due to a bug of the ult warlock. It should be borne in mind that even with several players it is not difficult to reach the finals (especially if you use the orpheus), but then the problems begin.

It is worth mentioning separately that there will be a new complexity for twilight raid - Grandmaster. She will allow a group of guards to test their strength against the most dangerous opponents, but my question is “Why?”. We should talk about it a little more in the near future (perhaps even this week), but if we rely on the latest trends, we will most likely receive resources for improvement and super-powerful equipment as a reward. It seems to me that for such hardcore content it is worth introducing a unique drop, in this case there will be a significant incentive for the farm.

If we move away from the PvE component, the upcoming season will most likely please PvP players with activity from the first part - Trials of Osiris, a lot of harmless “bugs” and datamining of the client hinted at its appearance. In short, this is a special 3 v 3 mode, where after death the guards do not resurrect automatically, this will require the help of another player. Despite the popularity of the trials in the first part, at the moment many are worried, perhaps the biggest problem is cheaters.

And in conclusion, I want to talk about sandbox. Following the already established traditions, even before the release of the new season, Bungie open the veil of secrecy, talking about certain changes that he will bring with him (they are not always pleasant). Over the past two weeks, we learned about a small processing of swords - they will have an energy scale for delivering powerful blows and a block, as well as about another nerf / buff of certain types of weapons.

The tenth season will change the benefits of sniper rifles, grenade launchers, shotguns and machine guns. Given this selection, it seems that they decided to change the most used PvE weapons, but most likely this is just some special balance affecting the PvP aspect (especially if trials are nevertheless introduced). This situation does not mean that you should abandon the "imperfect" types of weapons, I am sure there are users who will continue to use the Burden or any other nerfed weapon to cause damage.

The armor will become even more universal: it will be possible to change the element - for a fee, and the unique seasonal mods will no longer be tied to themed armor. That is, in the armor of immortality, you can install the modes from dawn and in the reverse order. Also, according to some information this week, they should tell in more detail about changes in armor and abilities. Welcome to mnfl18coins for the latest game news!
