The asymmetrical online multiplayer game "Project Resistance"(Know more from Resident Evil wiki), as the working title, for five players combines both cooperative and competitive dynamics. Players create their very own survival horror experience.

"Project Resistance" for all common consoles

Capcom is developing Project Resistance in partnership with NeoBards Entertainment using the proprietary RE engine, which is known for high-quality gaming experience and outstanding graphics in games such as Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5. Project Resistance is currently being developed for the PlayStation4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and PCs.

In each 4-on-1 match, a Mastermind player observes the four survivors through a network of surveillance cameras, trying to stay one step ahead of them to prevent them from escaping.

The mastermind lays deadly traps by playing strategic maps, creating dangerous obstacles, summoning deadly creatures, manipulating the environment, or using surveillance cameras as weapons. He can even control zombies directly.

For the first time in the series, Mastermind players can slip into the gray cloak of the huge, deadly Tyrant and take control of it. At the same time, the survivors must cooperate with each other to ward off the Mastermind's attacks and fulfill puzzling mission goals in order to leave a map before time runs out. Each survivor has unique abilities that can help the team overcome the mastermind's challenges and survive the grim experiment.

During the TGS, this work project can be rehearsed as part of a special Early Access option. In addition, members of the Xbox Insider program and RE Ambassadors are eligible for an opportunity to participate in the Project Resistance Closed Beta for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
