Back in 2012, Torchlight 2 was released on PC, along with Diablo 3. And although the game from Blizzard became a clear favorite, the creation of Runic Games was also able to find its audience. The fact is that at the start, Diablo 3 had technical problems, and Torchlight 2 became a breath of fresh air for many players.

Time passed, Blizzard polished his hit with new updates, and his rival on the PC gradually sunk into obscurity. And now, 7 years after the release on personal computers, Torchlight 2 comes out on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles to again compete for leadership with Diablo 3. In fact, there was only one rogue game on the consoles - Diablo 3. And now the quantity has doubled.

The Torchlight franchise has always been catching up, trying to find new depths in mechanics and improve already perfect standards. In the original Torchlight, pets were introduced that could be sent to the city for sale of prey. In the second part there was a multiplayer mode and a deep plot. And while Diablo 3 went the way of simplifying the Diablo 2 skill system, Torchlight 2, on the contrary, followed the path of complication.

The console version of Torchlight 2 differs most from the PC in its management optimization. The character moves with an analog stick, so you no longer need to click a button. Inventory management and collection of loot also turned into a simple and convenient process, much more convenient than in the ported on the Diablo 3 console.

Visually, the game also does not look at its own age. The characters are beautifully styled, and the camera is even more pushed back to improve visibility. At the same time, the picture is as clear and contrasty as on a PC, unlike Diablo 3, which had to be “washed out” for better performance on the Switch.
